Today in this rapidly evolving business landscape, Technology plays an vital role in our lives. Specially when it comes to Human Resource Management, technology is used to attract,  retain, support administration and optimize workforce management. Initially HR systems were papers based. Starting from Recruitment to resignation, all the works mostly done by using hard copies, But with the evolving of Technology HR professionals, managers and employees, automated functions in different ways to improve the efficiency of the business.


Implementing technology in Human Resource management enable HR professionals to gather, store and deliver information to employees more easily and efficiently by maintaining the accuracy. There are so many advantages of implementing technology in HRM in different ways.

Technology Towards HR Management Process

Recruitment 

Hiring is one of primary role of human resource professionals. In 21st century with the increase of the population, there has been new ways of recruitment process like online recruiting by using various channels.  Rather than using traditional recruitment ways, organizations has turned to online base recruitment process line e-recruiting which makes easy to control both employer and employee.

E-recruitment system is known as online recruitment system which is used by the organization use technology in particular web based system to interview potential candidates for a position.

  • Wider reach- Online recruitment can reach larger audience from all over the world. Candidates can apply from any part of the world from this online system and there are so many websites and job portals to apply.
  • Low cost - In most of the organizations there's separate budget for the recruitment as it is a non-stop process of the HRM. When it compares to the physical recruitment process online recruitment id much cheaper.
  • Efficiency - Online recruiting limits time wasting by selecting the right people that’s fit and matches the job requirement.
  • Easy to communicate - Rather than apply through post and waiting for reply, E-recruitment allows direct communication for both employer and employee.
Training and Development

Training and development means a most important part of HRM same as the recruitment process. Once the employee on boarded the next step is to give him the necessary training which required to perform his particular job role. In early stages the training programs were done by physically using hard copies  of company policies and procedures.

But now this process is digitalized by offering personalized and flexible learning and training opportunities thru online training sessions, webinars and e learning platforms HR departments to track employee progress, evaluate training effectiveness, and ensure continuous learning and development. 
 
Performance Management

Nowadays most of the companies started to automate the performance management system rather than filling up the appraisal hard copies of the individual employees. Before it used to fill-up by the relevant department head and finally it comes to the HR Department. So the HR person has to calculate the rating of the individual employee manually. But after these automated system evokes. employees can do their self-appraisal thru online and the employer or the department head also can mark the rating of the employee submit the appraisal form online. It helps to save time and the less paper work of all.

Documentation

HR department has to ensure that the employee can access to important information. This increases transparency with in the company. HR Technology help to store all the sensitive data like hiring, emergency, job performance and personal data of the employees which ensures it can be accessed throughout the day. Additionally, it makes sure that it is safeguarded even in a physical disaster. For this reason, HRIS has become a popular tool for managing employee information and maintain the accuracy.

Communication

Communication between employees and the HR department is very important to maintain the interaction between each other. With the implementation of technology file sharing systems and the other tools makes easier to communicate with the co-workers in the other departments.

Most of the software platforms can be customize according the organization's requirement which helps to outline the company needs.

To streamline the HR processes and to make data driven decisions technology plays an important role in today's business world. With the evolving of technology into Human Resource, most of the modern companies have moved from their old processes to new methods like e-recruiting, online trainings, using intranet to share internal resources, exchange news and information store documents, plan events and activities etc. which saves time and energy of both employer and employees to focus on their job roles more. It helps them to achieve their business goals and objectives  easily.
